Screens provides a clean, comfortable, and intuitive way to connect to another computer over your local network or anywhere in the world via the Internet. You can use Screens to access your computer while you’re away from home or the office, solve a problem on someone else’s computer, or collaborate with colleagues on your latest project.
As a client application, Screens connects to virtually any computer running a VNC server. macOS comes with this pre-installed (under the name Screen Sharing), as do most Linux distributions. Windows users may install our free and optional Screens Connect companion application, which includes VNC and SSH servers, or there are a wide range of third-party VNC options available. We will cover this in Configuring a Computer for Remote Access.
